Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Review

One of the most significant issues with the Hoover PowerScrub Deluxe was the lack of agitation from the five spinning brushes.

When you put it side by side against the much more expensive Rug Doctor, its brushes are David to Rug Doctor’s Goliath. Base on that alone, you can see why there’s a difference in performance.

But a lot of folks cannot or will not buy the Rug Doctor because it is expensive. The Mighty Pro X3 costs around $400, while the Rug Doctor Pro Deep carpet cleaner is close to $450!

If you don’t want to spend that amount on a deep cleaning carpet cleaner, then you’ll have to look at the Bissell ProHeat 2X.

It’s more expensive than the Rug Doctor FlexClean machine. But get this deep cleaning machine has two roller brushes that will provide more agitation.

Is it worth the premium price? We’ll find out in this review.

What to expect from the Bissell ProHeat 2X?

One unique feature that the carpet cleaner has that separates it from the Rug Doctor would be the two roller brushes that provide twice the agitation.

Dual DirtLifter Power Brushes

Bissell calls this the Dual DirtLifter Power Brushes. These are two roller brushes with stiff bristles that dig deep into the carpet to clean dirt.

It’s a big reason why this carpet cleaning machine is one of the more popular options in Amazon.

When you compare it to the Rug Doctor that only has a single roller brush, you’ll know that this will have better agitation.

There are two power modes.

Express Clean

The express cleaning mode will dump less cleaning solution on the carpet or rug. And it’ll work well if you’re in a hurry because it dries up in just an hour, according to Bissell.

Since it uses less water and suction, you can use this mode on area rugs that may not need as much agitation.

Deep Cleaning Mode

Use this mode if you need to deep clean carpet. It will work on most types of carpet from thin to plush because the roller brush automatically adjusts to the height of the carpet pile.

This mode will take longer to dry up because it uses more water and a cleaning solution.

EZ Clean Brush Roll Cover

One of the most significant issues with carpet cleaners would be maintenance. Bissell makes it easy with the ProHeat 2X Revolution thanks to the removable brush roll cover.

This gives easy access to the roller brush for cleaning and maintenance purposes.

2-in-1 Pet Upholstery Tool

This machine is more than a carpet cleaner. It comes with a hand tool Bissell calls the pet upholstery tool.

So this machine will also work well on upholstery as well. It will also double as a tight area cleaner on spots the main cleaning head cannot reach.

In a nutshell, the way the ProHeat 2X cleans carpet is impressive. You can see the difference between the dirty and clean parts. It was also able to remove several pet stains on other parts.

The cleaning process though is slow, and this is the proper way of using a carpet cleaner.

If you go too fast, you don’t allow the brush to do the job. And the machine will not be able to pick up water/cleaning solution residue.

Expect to wait a few hours for the carpet to dry up.  Use this correctly, and you’ll have a machine that will match a pro-grade tool for much less.

The Bissell ProHeat 2X was able to clean all if not most of the stains on carpet and almost restore it to its original glory.

Take note that this machine does not come with a water heater. So you’ll need to pour hot water on the clean water tank along with Bissell’s carpet cleaning solution.

Again, the results are positive. You can see through the dirty water it was able to suck up the amount of grime it was able to remove.

It also comes with several attachments capable of cleaning tight spaces between furniture and edges.

One potential issue I see here would be the water tank. If you’re cleaning an entire home, you will need to empty it often.

Performance is a strong point of this machine. The twin brush system does a good job when it comes to agitation. You’ll notice that the carpet in the video looked relatively clean. It was still able to pick up dirt and groom it as well.

What do consumers say?

This carpet cleaner is a popular option among pet owners. Whatever pet stain your pet leaves, this machine is capable of removing it, whether it’s pet hair, urine, or any other contaminant.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a Siberian huskie or a British bulldog, the ProHeat 2X will pick up whatever pet hair is on the carpet.

The twin roller brush system does the job well. Despite the complaints of some folks that it did not perform well, the majority vote is positive. I’m thinking that for the minority, they may have been going too fast.

Like what I’ve said earlier, when using a carpet cleaning machine, you’ll have to go slow. And allow the brush to do its work.

Cleaning the roller brush is also easy with the brush roll cover that pops out. You will have full access to the two brushes and remove hair and muck in there.

The Bissell ProHeat 2X is an excellent option if a pro-grade carpet cleaner is too expensive.

One advantage it has over a product like a Rug Doctor would be the weight savings.

This product weighs half less than the Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3. And it has enough agitation to clean most types of carpet.

One potential issue would be the dirty water tank. On paper, one gallon sounds a lot, but in reality, it’s on the small side. Depending on how big the room and dirty the carpet is, you will need to empty it after one or twice per.

It should be a non-issue since emptying is easy.

Overall this is an excellent option in homes with lots of carpets. And it’s cheaper than a pro-grade cleaner.
