The Bissell SpotClean 3624 is a compact but yet potent carpet cleaning tool that can tackle small stains with its powerful motor and two brush tools. Unfortunately, this machine does not have a water heater, so you’ll have to fill it with hot tap water and cleaning solution.
Out of the box, you’ll also get an 8-ounce carpet cleaning solution for tackling stains. There’s also an option with the professional cleaning solution for tougher stains and another for pet stains. But those will be more expensive than the standard version.
Before anything else, let’s look at the features of this compact carpet cleaner.

This type of machine would be great to have if your home has wall to wall carpeting or you have a lot of fabric upholstery (like I do).
It saves you time spraying cleaning solution and using a wet/dry vacuum separately.
Can clean your vehicle’s interior too
This also would be a great tool to have for car owners whose vehicles have lots of fabric inside.
The compact size of the nozzle and hose, allows it to clean not just upholstery but also carpet floors inside cars.

Having a few items like a steam iron, vinegar, dishwashing liquid, and borax are also handy items for the inevitable spill.
With this machine on board, you may not need all the items above. All you need is the Bissell cleaning solution, hot tap water, and this machine to clean up stains inside your home.
All the dirt goes into a 3/4 liter tank that’s easy to empty and clean.
The great thing about this is that it will not take up a lot of space, so you don’t have the lug around a big upright vacuum just to clean a small stained area.
Pet Stains/Hair
Out of the box, I don’t think this machine will be efficient in cleaning pet hair. While it has suction, this is not a vacuum cleaner but a carpet cleaner.
If you need something to clean pet hair, then you’ll have to look at these options.
If you have pets at home, you can buy a deep reach pet tool for around $30 directly from Bissell’s site if you need to clean up a lot of pet stains (particularly on upholstery).

Customer Reviews
A majority of consumers loved how this machine cleans up stains. The two attachments work great with the flexible hose in cleaning up stains.
However, stubborn stains need pre-treatment before using this machine. For other stains, the hot water/cleaning solution combo and agitation are enough in most cases.
Consumers would rather have the 3624 (this model) than other Bissell carpet cleaners because it had more suction even though this one does not have a heater.
The 5-foot flex hose, according to most consumers is long enough to reach most areas but you still have to kneel to clean carpet flooring which didn’t sit well with some people who would prefer that it had a longer hose and a wand that will allow them to use this while standing up.
Another complaint was the hose itself that can tear (since it is a plastic component) if you are not careful. I’m not sure if there is a replacement hose available – I don’t see it available on the Bissell website just yet.
Complaints aside, consumers were pretty happy with their purchase, saying that this machine allowed them to keep their carpets and upholstery clean, it also saved them money because they didn’t need to hire a professional carpet cleaner (as often). So consider this an investment for your home.
