Eureka 3670G Mighty Mite Review: Lightweight & Powerful Canister for Bare Floor

Our home has a combination of linoleum, hardwood, bare floor and tiled surface.

So I would need something lightweight that I can move around.

Eureka 3670G Mighty Mite Review

And at the same time has decent suction to pick up dust, cobwebs and dust bunnies that seem to pile up after just a few days.

The Eureka 3670G is a great option for homes such as ours because it weighs just 8.6 pounds, and has a really long extension wand that has good reach, enough to reach the ceiling if your home does not have high ceiling.

This is huge because, instead of buying a separate vacuum for that, you’ll be able to save your money and use this instead.

This is a bagged vacuum so you’ll have to buy extra bags and this is an extra running expense over the long haul.

Bags for this will cost less than a dollar per bag so it isn’t really expensive.

Eureka recommends this for homes with mostly bare floor surfaces because this doesn’t have any motorized brush roll, if you’re looking for something that’ll work for pet hair and carpet – the Mighty Mite Pet Lover 3684F.

What to expect from the Eureka 3670G Mighty Mite?

This lightweight canister is a little dynamic on hard surfaces thanks to the strong 12 amp motor that has strong enough suction to pick up dust, dust mites, pet hair, pet litter, cheerios and much more.

It does not have any motorized brush so this isn’t suited for plush carpet or rugs.

Reach is another strong point with removable 2 extension wands that gives you flexibility to adjust length depending on the area you want to clean.

Not only will it clean floors that also upholstery, vents and other hard to reach areas that an upright vacuum will struggle with.

Eureka 3670G Features

Note: This does not have HEPA filtration but it can be purchased separately or get the 3684F which already has the HEPA filter included.

Attachments and aaccessories

It comes with a crevice along with a combination brush/upholstery tool. These can be used in combination with the extension wands which will help you clean baseboards without bending down or going on all fours.

The extension wand also has enough length to clean cobwebs off the ceiling.

If your home is equipped with a vent on the ceiling then this vacuum is perfect for removing dust bunnies that will accumulate in there.

Cord length

The power cord is around 20 feet long but it does not have any cord rewind function but it has a cord wrap area where you can store the wire neatly.

Filter clean up

Even if this is a bagged vacuum, it has a post motor filter that blocks allergens from coming out the exhaust.

To get to the filter, push a lever to open the canister.

Remove the bag to gain access to the washable filter.

Don’t be concerned too much about the price of the bag, if you buy it in Amazon, a pack of 9 bags will cost just a little over $8. So that’s less than a dollar per bag.

Warranty

It only comes with a one year manufacturer’s warranty.

See it in action

Bare floor performance

The 3670G Might Mite will excel in bare floor surfaces particularly hard wood, linoleum and tiled finishes because of the strong suction that can be adjusted with a ring like know near the handle.

This is a very old technique in adjusting suction – for maximum suction you’ll have to over the small round hole full, to reduce suction, turn the know slightly to expose part of the hole.

This is crude and sometimes you may accidentally knock the ring off which has happened to several consumers who’ve left a review.

If you ask me, I’d keep the opening shut and opt for maximum power all the way.

Carpet performance

The absence of a motorized brush roll will limit the performance on carpet. You’d be able to clean flat, thin pile carpet.

It will struggle with anything thicker, you’d be better off with the Pet hair version of this vacuum – the 3684F that comes equipped with a motorized brush.

Consumers who tried used this on carpet weren’t very thrilled with the performance.

One tried it on carpet needed to go back and forth 10 times before seeing any satisfactory results. Some have had success on throw rugs but it’ll work only on thin ones.

Pet hair removal

Again, this will only work on pet hair on hard surfaces. It will struggle on upholstery and carpet because it does not have any beater bar.

The combination upholstery/brush tool can pick up pet hair on chairs and sofas but it won’t be as effective.

What consumers say?

Over a thousand people left reviews in Amazon alone.

Great suction

Consumers loved the versatility and suction power of this little beast that picked up a ton. Some have even owned this for years and said it still performed well despite all the bumps and falls.

The interchangeability of the tools and wand allows this vacuum to clean floors and stairs without having to bend down.

The extension wands are long enough to reach the ceiling but if you have a large home with really high ceilings then it won’t be long enough.

Swiveling feature popular as well

Another feature that is popular with consumers is the swiveling floor tool that helped folks move it around furniture.

You will not see this feature in a vacuums at this price range.

A lot of the folks use this on bare floor surfaces like hardwood, tile and linoleum. But there were a few who tried it on carpet and results were mixed.

Not a deep cleaning machine

On medium to thick pile carpet, this will struggle to pick up embedded dirt under the strands.

But on thin pile carpet or rugs, it will pick up at least the surface dirt. However don’t expect it to deep clean because it does not have any brush.

This is a loud vacuum

Since this is a small vacuum, expect it to be loud and consumers have confirmed it. Also the plastic hose and attachments don’t snap or lock into place.

It relies on friction to keep it attached. This is a slight concern for the long haul because these attachments can develop a crack.

The ring / lever that control the suction power also gave problems to some folks.

Some said it was flimsy and easily gets knocked out of place because it is located very near the handle.

This could also be responsible for the lack of suction that some consumers complained about.

Despite the negative reviews, this still is a good performing budget vacuum that will have its quirks, just make sure to put it to work immediately after getting it to see if suction performance is up to par.

Where can I buy this?

You can buy this lightweight canister vacuum for around $60 in Amazon. And it’ll be eligible to their free 2-day shipping if you join Prime. They also sell extended warranties (up to 3 years) if you want that extra peace of mind.

To wrap up

This product would be great for small to medium sized homes with mostly hard surfaces because of the powerful 12 amp motor that literally sucks in debris.

The lack of a motorized brush doomed its performance on carpet but it can still clean surface dirt from thin piled variants.

Why then should you consider this if it only works on bare surfaces?

Because it is a versatile machine, one of only a few canister vacuums that is effective on flat surfaces, stairs and ceilings!

If your home has a ceiling fan or a vent, you’ll appreciate the long reach.

Any homeowner will tell you how hard it is to remove dust bunnies of vents and cobwebs of the ceiling.

All the tools that come with this machine are interchangeable. You can attach it on the wand or hose which helps greatly in terms of flexibility.

Viola! You can clean baseboards without bending over or going on all fours. Great for folks who suffer from back aches.
