What to expect from the Roomie Tech 2-in-1 cordless vacuum?

First let me get this out of the way. In terms of design and features, this vacuum is very similar to the Deik 2-in-1 cordless.

Both have similar dimensions, foldable handle and LED headlight design. This makes me wonder if both of these come from the same factory.

Other products similar to this would be the Eufy HomeVac Duo and Bissell Bolt XRT. The cheapest of these would be Deik which has a longer run time but Roomie Tech has a longer brush tool that’ll have more reach.

Now let’s focus on Roomie Tech.

Versatile 2-in-1 functionality

Living in a small home where space is a premium, you’ll appreciate tools like this that has multiple functions.

Roomie Tech has the function of two products – a stick and hand vacuum that’ll allow you to clean nearly every single inch of your home outside the kitchen and bathroom.

At its core, this product is a handheld that’s put on a stick body. So don’t expect a lot in terms of power.

But it will have just enough to clean bare floor and low pile carpet.

Motorized brush

This vacuum also comes with a motorized brush to help it clean dirt on bare floor.

I must caution you not to expect deep cleaning performance from this vacuum because the bristles are soft.

Soft bristles work great on dust but not so good for agitation on carpet.

Suction

Roomie Tech has that this vacuum has two individual high power motors that combine to produce 6.5 kpa of suction.

In my experience owning these types of vacuums, suction isn’t the only factor how these products will perform but the design of the cleaning head and brush.

If you look at reviews, performance points is good which means this vacuum has decent design and the motorized brush does its job well.

Swivel

Maneuverability around furniture will not be an issue thanks to the 180 degree swivel. Having swivel steering means that turning on a dime won’t be a problem.

Now, it will not have the same dexterity as a Dyson cordless but it’s pretty darn good.

LED headlights

One unique feature with Roomie Tech not found in a Dyson would be the LED headlights.

This feature may sound mundane but it actually helps if you’re trying to clean dust as it is almost invisible without bright source of light.

The bright LED light helps tracking down under furniture and other areas with poor visibility.

Lightweight

The handheld unit minus the stick body weighs 2.1 pounds. It is one of the lightest handhelds I’ve reviewed so far. The whole stick vacuum with the handheld weighs around 4.5 pounds

Run Time and Battery

This stick vacuums relies on a 2,200 mAh lithium ion battery that will run for around 23 minutes. And it’ll take 4 to 5 hours to recharge.

Dirt Bin

Since this vacuum is essentially a handheld, expect handheld capacity. It’ll only hold up to 500ml of dry dirt which is similar to a Dyson V6 and Dibea C17. Don’t expect this to clean a large home without frequent trips to the bin.

Charging dock

The charging dock doubles as a stand that keeps this vacuum from tipping over.

You can also use it to store the combination crevice and brush tool.

Cleaning Performance

First let’s set expectations. Vacuums such as this will work best on bare floor and low pile carpet.

Suction is decent and will do a pretty good job picking up dust on most surfaces except for thicker pile carpet.

The soft bristles will not agitate well enough to deep clean.

If you look at the reviews, notice that most positive reviews say that it does a good job at cleaning dust and pet hair which are the strong points of the soft bristled brush.

It only comes with a single attachment – the combination brush and crevice tool for cleaning above the floor areas like vents, blinds and such.

What consumers say?

A lot of consumers like how this stick vacuum performs. In terms of performance, this vacuum will work great on picking up dust, powder and pet hair. It did well on most bare floor surfaces and rugs.

I’m a bit surprised to find out that it also has worked well on carpet. But it will struggle on thicker pile carpet.

This isn’t surprising because it does not have enough suction and the bristles are on the soft side.

Consumers also like that it was lightweight and they didn’t have any issue carrying it with one hand. One lady said that she was using this vacuum while carrying her child. It is that light.

The foldable handle that reduces storage footprint is another feature that folks like.

Some issues

Most of the issues that I read were related to the quality or lack there off.

Some consumers say that quality isn’t good and parts do not line up perfectly which is something that you’d expect from a vacuum at this price range.

If you’re not happy with the quality you can return this product and get your money back.

Where can I buy this?

You can buy this 2-in-1 stick vacuum from Amazon for less than $100 which is a bargain in my book. And it will be eligible for the free 2-day shipping if you join Prime.

Amazon also sells extended warranties of up to 3 years if you want that extra peace of mind.

To wrap up

The Roomie Tech 2-in-1 stick and handheld vacuum is a great option if you’re looking for a versatile, cheap and lightweight vacuum that you’ll use in a small to medium sized home.

It’s light enough to move around without having to worry about straining your back. And has enough power to at least keep dirt from piling up.

The LED headlights will help you track dust and pet hair on areas with low visibility. And the foldable handle helps in reducing storage footprint.

There may be some issues with quality but it does come with a money back guarantee so you can try this out and see if it’ll fit your needs. If you’re not happy just return it and ask for a refund.

  1. Hi Garrick,

There’s a big sale on Amazon today and I am looking at either the Roomie Tech above or the Dibea C17 which you also tested.

Any thoughts on a preference between the two?

    Thank you!

    Sarah
