The
I’ve highlighted steps for other Roomba models like the 695, E5, and I3, and the process for the S9 will be slightly different.
Tools you’ll need
- Philips screwdriver: This is the only tool you’ll need to remove the bolts holding the side brush, base plate, and battery.
How do I change the battery in my Roomba S9 ?
Before proceeding, grab a clean towel, lay it underneath the robot to prevent any scuffing.
1. Remove the base plate
Use the Philips screwdriver to loosen the bolts [check photo]. There’s no need to take out the screws, but only undo enough for the base plate to come off.
You may need to unfasten the two bolts above the two side wheels.
After the base plate is out, you’ll see the battery on the robot’s lower right.
2. Detach the battery
One bolt holds the battery. Use a Philips screwdriver to loosen then pull it out using the two black tabs.
Get the new battery, attach it to the battery slot, then tighten the bolt.
3. Reattach the base plate
After installing the new battery, reattach the base plate, then tighten all the bolts.
